I regret that I did not have enough knowledge about foundations and their shades few years back and my wedding pictures aren't that great, on some occassions the shade has been darker than my skintone, for some lighter shades giving white cast on my face. We are made to believe by the MUA that she has used the right foundation on us till the pictures arrive and we realize things have not gone the right way !!
I have to thank the MUA at the MAC counter for choosing the right shade for me and I have always been a fan of matte foundations since Chennai is always hot & humid.The MAC Studio Fix foundation is one such holy grail product which has various shades to choose from, to cater to the diverse Indian skin tones and also gives a healthy matte effect and does not look bad under flash light which is like a blessing in disguise for me.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation Packaging :
I do not have big packaging expectations for foundations but expect at least a pump for dispensing the product else it becomes a bit messy while using it. The MAC Studio Fix foundation comes in a bulky glass container with a black lid. The product has to be poured onto your fingers or on the brush to apply. Sometimes there are chances that a lot of product can flow out if not noticed or controlled. The shade number is printed at the bottom of the bottle. It is not travel friendly at all though I did manage to carry it to a lot of places because I like it a lot.
Note :
The smell of this foundation can be very annoying- it has this artificial smell that I really dont like.

The foundation is a liquid foundation that has the right consistency. It can be blended easily using fingers or any type of brush. I prefer to use a stippling brush which creates a more natural look. The foundation dries in no time and sets into a healthy matte effect. I tap my fingers on my face after properly blending the foundation using a brush so that the warmth of my fingers can make it set faster.

I recommend going for foundation shopping when you have a big shopping plan, because you can try out the shade on you, go for some shopping and wait for results like oxidation or mismatched shade & then pick the right one.
I was given the shade NC 40 by the MUA at the MAC counter and said it would compliment my yellow skintone. I actually want a cool undertone only on my face(crazy right) so that I can rock cooler lip shades.
The shade suits my skintone perfectly and does not give a ghastly look under flash light but it does make my face look more fuller under flash only - so I need to contour quite heavily if I am going to attend functions in the evening.
I was quite worried about the SPF in it but I did try a snap under flash light in the store & I was convinced.
MAC Studio Fix Foundation Coverage & Staying Power :
The foundation can give you good coverage with just one application. This can be a good bridal wear foundation and 2 coats would provide the necessary coverage. It can cover skin imperfections and gives a more uniform look to the skin. It blends beautifully even with fingers and does not look cakey. For important occasions , 2 coats can be applied and even then it does not make you look made up. The staying power is exceptionally good and it stays intact for 7 to 8 hours and it does not crack near your laugh lines.
Note : I encountered this problem with Kryolan foundations, they started cracking near my lips and it looked bad.
Removal of the foundation needs a good 2 to 3 cotton pads and some makeup remover. Or you can opt for some coconut oil and rub it off & use a face wash later. Not a very tedious process I should say.
