Though summers are about bright colors, there are some things which can never go out of fashion - a mild daily wear lipstick shade. Since last month my posts have depicted products which cost less than INR 1000 and at the same time deliver good quality. Joining the league here is our Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade Bare. Though I personally love sporting bright shades, which I prefer for an outing, on ordinary days, I prefer the MLBB (My lips But Better ) kind of shade.

Application Method :
Line the lips with a suitable lip liner. Press the bullet to the lips using even pressure to apply color on both upper and lower lips: To refresh and even out, press lips together.Using a lip brush gives a richer and more precise color application.

My experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare :
The Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks come in a metallic silver colored base with a transparent cap which would enable us to see the shade of the lipstick. The shade of the lipstick is also indicated at the bottom of the lipstick. The bullet is quite different with a flat area for application which will be useful for people like me with broad lips.Nothing great about the packaging to rave about but it is decent and quite distinct among the other lipsticks that I have , which usually have the black packaging.
The shade Bare is a brownish pink shade that can be worn on a daily basis and it suits my MAC NC 40 skin tone. The shade can be used by skin tones ranging from NC 35 to NC 42. Some neutral shades tend to wash me out, but this one did not and it suited me really well.
The pigmentation is quite good and I need about 2 swipes to cover my lips with a uniform layer of the lipstick. The formula is soft, velvety (as it suggests) and glides easily on the lips.It is light -weight and I hardly feel like I have worn a lipstick on me.It sets into a semi matte finish which I have been liking off late , since such finishes deliver decent staying power. Speaking of staying power, the Colobar Velvet Matte provides a staying power of 4 hours , in which, for the first 2 hours, the slight sheen is present but after that only the color/stain stays till 4 hours.
It neither dries out your lips unlike some long staying lipsticks nor nourishes your dry lips.
