Some products are way too expensive in Singapore like Dettol, body wash liquids , hand wash liquids, sunscreens, and so on. So whenever I visit India or someone from India visits me, I make sure I have at least 2 bottles of each of these. This time I made a visit to Health & Glow, the go to beauty destination in Chennai for all your skin and makeup needs (This is not a paid post). I managed to grab a lot of stuff like shaving razors, bleach, some sunscreens, some face creams , cotton swabs, pedicure kit etc.
If I get ample time, I make a visit to Angels store in Egmore which has a lot of offers & a varied range of products too.This visit was too short & I had time just to go to the H&G opposite to my in-law's place.
Today , I have penned down my thoughts about The Biotique Bio Vera 75 + SPF Body Lotion.
Biotique products come in pretty much similar packaging in a plastic container with a screw type lid and a net volume of 190 ml. These products can be taken only in your check in luggage in case you want to take them with you on your travels(now that is a distant dream).
Biotique products claim to have no chemicals in them and the smell does indicate that is naturally made. It has a lovely fruity smell that is very refreshing and lasts really long.
The ingredients list is as follows :
Aloe Vera Gel, Margosa Bark, Nut Grass Seeds, Sunflower Oil, Kulanjan Fruit, Purified WaterQ.S.
Biotique Bio Vera 75 + SPF UVA/UVB Sunscreen Ultra Soothing Body Lotion Performance
The main ingredient is aloe vera so it is definitely very soothing for the skin and does no harm to the skin. I find it extremely fast absorbing and leaves a mild glow to the skin. The product packaging says its a body lotion but doesn't say anything about applying on the face. I did try a couple of times and felt quite comfortable although I would leave it to your discretion.
It retails for INR 590 which is decent considering that sunscreens are generally highly priced and the fact that this is 100 % Ayurvedic. The quantity is quite good for the price and it would last for 1 to 2 months depending on your re-usage during the day. I generally go out for a short duration in the sun and hence do not reapply in one day.
The body lotion has an SPF of 75 which is just beyond great I would say and I honestly think you should go for it if you are someone who goes out a lot in the hot sun and do not like wearing long sleeves and when you ought to protect your hands, feet, neck & back.
I would give this 4.75/5 as it is a super good product that I discovered, it smells lovely, its naturally made. A small reduction for the bulky packaging.
